The Humboldt Speed Skating Club is the home of Canadian National Team, Olympic and World Cup skater William Dutton. The club is also home to several Canadian Age Class Champions and numerous Canadian medalists. Oh yeah, we claim the 'Spoon' Jeremy Wotherspoon too; he was born in the Humboldt Hospital.

Medals at the North American Championship
Humboldt North American Championship Team
William Dutton, Haley Spencer and Nathan Bernhard, the 2006 Humboldt Speed Skating Club North American Team rose to the challenge Saturday at the Salt Lake Oval.
Bernhard led the way kickin' butt to two, count 'em, two Gold medals. He is in the drivers seat to bring home the overall Championship Gold in the Intermediate men's division.
Spencer, in a photo finish, took Silver in the 1500 and a Bronze in the 1000. Spencer is second among Junior Women.
Dutton missed the primary in the 1500 when the 2nd place skater recieved a warning for impeding Dutton but the Humboldt Junior was not advanced. Dutton won the secondary heat of the 1500 handily. He came back with a solid Silver medal win in the 1000 and presently sits fourth.
Racing continues Sunday and all three skaters will skate a 500 and a 3000. The team is considered very strong in both of these distances.
